The Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts Limited is pleased to announce two new appointments to its staff – Nancy Smith, Programming Director and Ginny Masters, Event and Office Administrator. Nancy’s appointment was effective November 1, and Ginny’s was effective October 1. These appointments follow the appointment in July of David Skinner as the first Executive Director of the Festival and bring the Festival staff to its full complement.
Nancy Smith brings with her a wealth of experience and education in music and the performing arts. She is a music teacher and a musician who has been a mainstay of many Bermuda stage and musical productions over many years. She has also been a volunteer for the Festival for several years, working behind the scenes supporting the Outreach Programme and organizing volunteer ushers. Executive Director David Skinner said, “We are fortunate to have someone of Nancy’s background and talent leading the programming process. With her knowledge and understanding of different genres I am confident the Festival will continue to maintain its reputation for excellence”.
Ginny Masters’ experience includes significant hospitality and event planning and organisation skills. Prior to her appointment to the Festival staff she worked for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Bermuda as Sales Manager, worked as an ad hoc consultant on special projects for the Select Sites Group and ran her own wedding planning business. Executive Director David Skinner said, “Ginny brings with her not only tremendous organization skills but also a high level of positive energy. Her ability to take on previously unknown responsibilities and her pleasant personality bode well for the Festival’s administrative and operational functions”.
The Bermuda Festival is in its 41st year of operation. The 2016 Festival will run from January 22, 2016 to March 5, 2016 and offers a variety of artists and genres. Tickets are available through Bdatix.com.
